March 2012 Bellabox review - Bare Face Beauty Edition

My March parcel for bellabox arrived late last week, so I have had some time to test and gather my thoughts for the products for the month.

I also noticed that bellabox have done away with the box and gone with a calico bag. Not sure if this is just for this month or the bag is a way to cut costs and go a bit more eco friendly...

Bellabox have gone for a bare faced beauty theme this month. So we have some natural products that focus on skin and hair care.

Classic Fruit and Nut Muesli Biscuit from Carmans (170cal)
This is a little foodie freebie. Can't say I enjoyed it though. I generally love muesli type snacks but it had this sour taste which was not to my liking. Also it's almost 200 calories for a little biscuit. There are so many more healthy and yummy foods that I can eat for that many calories.

C Me Blush Lip Tint in Cotton Candy from Yes to Carrots
I really like lip balms and I seem to be accumulating a few from my beauty box subscriptions. This one is a great addition. A really nice peppermint scent and a good balm. The tint doesn't really do much, it is a bit light to see but other than that... thumbs up.

Anti-Aging Daily Face Moisturiser by Planet Eve
A nice natural moisturiser, the scent is ok. I generally don't go for anti-aging as they seem to focus on adding a lot of moisture to the skin and my oily skin does that for me. However it is quite light and I will probably use this before bed.

Coconut Infusion Hydrating Body Lotion by Pure Fiji
Oh my goodness! This smells amazing! I don't go for coconut scents but this smells divine. I am going to use this all the time! It isn't a heavy formula and absorbs quickly into my skin. Super lovely product.

Natural Shine Hair Serum by ulittle beauty
On the product list, it states a hair mask from the same brand, but I wasn't lucky enough to get that. Instead I have gotten a hair serum. I get really oily hair so a hair serum doesn't usually work too well for me. It did smooth my fly aways this morning and it doesn't seem to be too heavy so I will see how this goes. I would have preferred the hair mask though... sigh...

Eye Balm by BellaMer
I have been using this over the past few nights. I don't really see the point. I guess it is to protect your skin around the eyes. I will keep using it as a preventative I think. You don't need to use a lot of the product so the sample will last me a long time.

Overall Thoughts
I liked the concept for bare faced beauty and I really like products that help nourish and care for the skin. I was happy to get two full sized products and three decent smaller samples. My favourite product from this month would have to be the coconut body lotion. The smell is extraordinary!

  1. Does the lippie taste like cotton candy or is it just a marketing gag on the packaging? :D

    1. It tastes like peppermint. I think the cotty candy refers to the colour of the lipbalm. Thanks for your comment!
