March Photo-A-Day ~ Day 19-31 ~ Third and Final Recap

Well today is the last post of March Photo A Day....
Fat Mum Slim has posted the April list and I am keen to join in again this month.
See details on how you can join in at the end of the post.

I lost a bit of inspiration at the end of the month. Bit too busy at work and I went camping (aka no technology) for 5 days so I got a bit behind.
Favourite day out of this bunch was probably before / after on day 20. I thought it was a great idea and I saw some really cool snaps from other participants on pinterest and instagram.

I thought I would also share the April List from Fat Mum Slim. It is a super fun way to practise your photography and creativity skills. There are no rules, visit Fat Mum Slim's blog to learn more.

Of course, you can find my photos every day on Instagram, Pinterest and on my twitter, just click on the links below to find them :)

March 2012 GlossyBox Review - Active Lifestyle Edition

Glossybox for this month arrived and the theme was products to help out with an active lifestyle. So I was excited what they had to show to keep me looking my finest during a busy week.

I really like their new product list! It includes all the possible products you might find in the box .
There were a few I would have loved to get but didn't, but it is the luck of the draw I guess.
You can see which 5 I received.

Power Balancing Bracelet
I wore this for a few days and can't say I felt more balanced, flexible or strong. Then my cat found it and it has disappeared hahaha... Not much to say about the bracelet unfortunately.

Cleansing Cream by Dr Hauschka
This is a unique cleansing cream. The smell is different, really obtrusive when straight out of the tube and you can start to smell all the different essential oil ingredients. The cream is heavy and slightly rough (for exfoliating?). Worth trying in my opinion as it is natural and just a little different from other cleansers I have.

Thermal Spring Water Spray by Eau Thermale Avene
Even though I have heard of this product from long ago. I think it is kind of gimmicky... I mean, it is just water and nitrogen in a can. I will just say... I sprayed this on my face and I felt... no different.

Free Shape Hot Flex Spray by KMS California
A little tube of heat protectant styling spray. Pleasant scent and nice product. I am always after a new heat protectant for when I blow dry my hair and/or straighten it.

 Cleansing Body Bar by ProActiv
I haven't had a great experience with proactiv before. The benzoyl peroxide in their product drys out my skin. However, the active product in the body bar is salicylic acid. High hopes of smoother skin :)

Nurturing Hand Cream by Nougat London
This hand cream has a pretty generic hand cream kinda smell. However no complaints with this product, it absorbed quickly into my skin and leaves my hands feeling soft.

Overall Thoughts
No products that really stood out as amazing but overall I was pretty happy with the box this month. This month I recieved 2 full size samples and the other 4 were smaller sized.  I look forward to using the heat protectant spray for my hair and testing the proactiv cleansing bar.

What I Ate Wednesdays - Upping my protein and donating my blood

This morning I ducked out of work to do my regular blood donation. I am a big advocate of blood donation and I just thought I might share some of my thoughts on the matter.

I can't think of an easier or more meaningful way to help someone.
Although I know where blood donations are used, I never really sat and thought about the fact that my blood is going to go to help a sick child, somebody with cancer, a car crash victim or someone else who is truly in need.

A physical part of myself is going to aid in keeping the life of another person.
How special and meaningful is that!

If you have never or don't regularly donate blood, you should really consider it.
It is really easy, doesn't take very long and your one donation can help save the lives of up to 3 different people!

Anyway, I thought I would share this little part of my day and hopefully get you thinking. But without further ado, onto WIAW!

If you haven't heard of WIAW then run over to Peas and Crayons and join in the fun!
This week I have been trying to up my protein and veges.

For me, eating these foods makes me feel more satisfied during the day and I don't give into my chocolate cravings so much.

Today's eats were awesome. I found a new scrambled egg combination and I made a delicious Korma for dinner. Also the boy was so kind to make me my favourite after dinner treat. One of his perfect cappuccinos!

March 2012 Bellabox review - Bare Face Beauty Edition

My March parcel for bellabox arrived late last week, so I have had some time to test and gather my thoughts for the products for the month.

I also noticed that bellabox have done away with the box and gone with a calico bag. Not sure if this is just for this month or the bag is a way to cut costs and go a bit more eco friendly...

Bellabox have gone for a bare faced beauty theme this month. So we have some natural products that focus on skin and hair care.

Classic Fruit and Nut Muesli Biscuit from Carmans (170cal)
This is a little foodie freebie. Can't say I enjoyed it though. I generally love muesli type snacks but it had this sour taste which was not to my liking. Also it's almost 200 calories for a little biscuit. There are so many more healthy and yummy foods that I can eat for that many calories.

C Me Blush Lip Tint in Cotton Candy from Yes to Carrots
I really like lip balms and I seem to be accumulating a few from my beauty box subscriptions. This one is a great addition. A really nice peppermint scent and a good balm. The tint doesn't really do much, it is a bit light to see but other than that... thumbs up.

Anti-Aging Daily Face Moisturiser by Planet Eve
A nice natural moisturiser, the scent is ok. I generally don't go for anti-aging as they seem to focus on adding a lot of moisture to the skin and my oily skin does that for me. However it is quite light and I will probably use this before bed.

Coconut Infusion Hydrating Body Lotion by Pure Fiji
Oh my goodness! This smells amazing! I don't go for coconut scents but this smells divine. I am going to use this all the time! It isn't a heavy formula and absorbs quickly into my skin. Super lovely product.

Natural Shine Hair Serum by ulittle beauty
On the product list, it states a hair mask from the same brand, but I wasn't lucky enough to get that. Instead I have gotten a hair serum. I get really oily hair so a hair serum doesn't usually work too well for me. It did smooth my fly aways this morning and it doesn't seem to be too heavy so I will see how this goes. I would have preferred the hair mask though... sigh...

Eye Balm by BellaMer
I have been using this over the past few nights. I don't really see the point. I guess it is to protect your skin around the eyes. I will keep using it as a preventative I think. You don't need to use a lot of the product so the sample will last me a long time.

Overall Thoughts
I liked the concept for bare faced beauty and I really like products that help nourish and care for the skin. I was happy to get two full sized products and three decent smaller samples. My favourite product from this month would have to be the coconut body lotion. The smell is extraordinary!

What I Ate Wednesdays - Goes Green and facing my fears

I completely forgot about last weeks WIAW but this week I am back in full swing!

This month the WIAW challenge was to go green. I am usually pretty good with including greenery in my diet (it is my favourite colour after all).

Breakfast - My regular unpictured coffee and my new favourite breakfast meal... omelettes!
Today mine included 1 egg, 2 egg whites, tomato, zucchini, baby spinach, mushrooms and feta.
Greens? Check! Check!

Lunch - Chicken and stir fry vegetables. Yummy crunchy brussel sprouts, carrot, broccoli, bok choy, green beans and white chia seeds.
Greens? Check! Check! Check! Check! Woohoo!

DinnerTurkey and White Bean Pumpkin Chilli topped with Shallots and Sour Cream. I also cut  some tortillas into eights and grilled for some home made tortilla chips!
Greens? Hmm does Shallots counts?

I have to confess I also ate half a block of Dark Cooking Chocolate. I don't know why! I probably shouldn't have... but it was awesome :P

Well I hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesdays... I started my 6 days of holidays! Unfortunately my OCD rised to the surface and I have spent the whole day cleaning.
I decided to clean and wash out our bombsite of an outdoor area and garage. Took all day and had to face one of my most prominent fears and kill countless numbers of these eight legged suckers...

Red Back Spiders... just googling a picture to put on here is making my skin crawl.... and see those yellow things... egg sacks! Eeewwww!!! I was super proud of myself though... I was able to kill every one I came across... (it may have involved a crazy amount of squealing though).

Anyhow! Time to sign off now I have flared up my arachnophobia!

Monday Delights - Episode Four - I Heart Mint

This Monday marks a very short work week (only two days) and then I have six glorious days of holidays!

I have been loving mint this week! It is such a soft and fresh colour.

Good Sunday my good friends!
Today marks the day I share my week of photos from the March Photo A Day Challenge.
My week was super busy but I managed to get all my photos for days 12-18...

Favourite photo for the week is probably day 13, perhaps because I had such a fun walk with the boy trying to find a sign.

Of course, you can find my photos every day on Instagram, Pinterest and on my twitter, just click on the links below to find them :)

Alternatively, check back next Sunday for my weekly recap of snaps!

Monday Delights - Episode Three

I had a super long 4 day weekend so I was sad that my weekend was over but very refreshed and eager to start my week!

This week I am in wedding mode! Our engagement anniversary just passed (10/03/11), we didn't celebrate with dinner, gifts or anything like that but it was a special time for us to remember that super perfect moment that we shared together one whole year ago!

We still haven't booked anything for our wedding... however that may change this week. I think we found our ceremony and reception venue!

As a result of having wedding ideas on my mind I have been pinning pretty wedding things, colour schemes, flowers, dresses and of course photography that I love! I thought I might share my favourites with you beautiful people this week

I adore vintage style dresses with lace detailing.

Mint and Coral are two pastel colours I adore and this palette is so cute.

I am trying to think up cute ideas for our engagement shoot, main problem - getting Josh to smile for the camera!

I love simple and classic cake design and these Martha Steward wedding cakes are beautiful.

Finding this DIY home grown rose bouquet makes me want to grow roses in my garden!

I will try not go too much into wedding stuff on my blog, but if anyone has any questions or wants to see future planning for my wedding then let me know!

Also you can find me on Pinterest by clicking HERE. I am posting my March Photo A Day pictures on Pinterest as well as on Instagram.
