Sooo, Jenn has provided a Halloween Theme for this months WIAW.
If you are not already aware, I live in Australia and we don't really celebrate Halloween. If kids came to my door asking for lollies I would have to send them off with a carrot sticks, some protein powder or something equally horrifying for a kid :)
Snackaroo - I have been so excited to try Chobani after ogling it on every American healthy eating blog, I recently saw that Bec over at Half Baked got her hands on some and couldn't believe that Australian supermarkets finally got hold of it. I picked up every single flavour and so far they have all been delicious.
Lunch - Chicken salad with either pear or apple has been my staple lunch for about a month now. Today was no different. Sliced Pear, chopped chicken, handfuls of salad leaves and marinated feta. I also added some olives for a bit more variety. This salad is so simple and easy, it's a perfect combination of sweetness from the fruit, saltiness from the feta and the chicken provides protein. This fills me up for lunch but still remains fresh and light.
Dinner - Somehow I missed out on my afternoon snack, the work day was over and I was starving! I cooked up some lamb kheema from my go to healthy eating blogger Skinnytaste.com. I think I overdid it on the spices because it was a bit overwhelming flavour wise. My tummy didn't complain though... it was full and happy!
what a delicious looking dessert!
ReplyDeleteHalloween isn't all that big in the UK either, sadly people just seem to use it as an excuse to cause trouble and people tend to lock their doors and pretend they aren't home if anyone rings the doorbell. I've spent Halloween in California and the difference was incredible!
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast looks soooo delicious!
ReplyDeletePineapple chobani = my favorite snack :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your delicious day of eats...Happy WIAW!
Ok, firstly, love the Iphone background. Could not stop laughing. I'm so glad you finally got Chobani!! What's your favourite flavour? I can not stop eating strawberry! :) I am so trying that dessert!!! It looks freaking amazing. I actually bookmarked this page haha.
ReplyDeleteBahaha I love gangnam style! I have tried pineapple and peach so far. I packed strawberry for lunch tomorrow though. Definitely try the dessert it's yum!
DeleteOh my GOODNESS. I'm dying of laughter.
ReplyDeleteI love halloween. I live in an apartment now with very few kids, so it makes me sad that I don't get trick or treaters. When I was growing up, my house was the "cool house" that gave away full-sized candy bars, none of those little mini box excuses ^~
we need to do a link button swap!! Can you email me at snackingonsunshine@gmail.com?
xo
Love the pictures on your blog, I haven't made a kheema curry in awhile, thanks for the inspiration! Chobani has also recently hit the UK, and I'm on the look out!
ReplyDeleteYou really do take such beautiful pictures. Your lunch looks absolutely delicious girl!!
ReplyDeleteI love Chobani's greek yogurt! I recently tried the apple cinnamon flavor and OMG it tastes just like apple pie! It's soooooo good!

I haven't had any lamb in forever! I wish it was more of a popular source of protein in the U.S. because it is SO GOOD :) And I am super happy for you on the Chobani front. Every girl needs some Chobani! It used to be my favorite Greek yogurt.

Haha, I love the Gangnam Style phone screens! SNL did a skit with that and Bill Hader plays the role of that guy in the elevator. It was hilarious :)
ReplyDeleteI love buying the big quarts of plain Chobani and adding fruit, protein powder, and honey :) I'm glad you've liked all the varieties so far!
