Coffee Date with Mum ❤

As I mentioned earlier in the week, my sister came to visit!

She left on Thursday and I had so much fun with her while she was staying with me. She also helped ease my loneliness since Josh went away with my dad for a big fishing trip and won't be back for another week.

I have a few posts planned for next few days re: my sisters visit so keep an eye out for them.

However, today I thought I would share some pictures from a coffee date I had with my lovely mum last weekend.

While I was home in Bundaberg last weekend, she took me to this adorable new cafe near Bargara (Queensland, Australia). It was this homewares/gift/cafe shop and the decor was adorable! We ordered some cappuccinos and a slice carrot cake to share (it was bloody amazing!) and did some much needed catching up!

Now that I live a good 5 hours drive away from my parents I really value any time I can spend with them and it was so nice to have this little outing with my mumma - the majority of our conversation was about wedding stuff! So much wedding planning on my mind at the moment!

Do you guys have a good relationship with your folks? Does absence make the bond grow stronger?

  3. Look like a lovely day!

My dad died when I was as young as 13. My mum and I are very close but we are often busy to chat properly, which I feel a little sad about. I am going to make more effort, thanks to you

    1. That is so sad - I couldn't imagine going through something like that :(
On the upside I am glad that you have a close relationship with your mum!

  4. I get along with my parents so well! On the other hand J doesn't get along with his family do well, but like you they are all from/in bundaberg, and we're not too far from Melbourne. Not so convenient for visiting!

  7. That carrot cake looked scrumptious! It would be the kind of thing my mom and I would share together too. My mom and I live 800 miles apart and every time I see her it is bittersweet knowing I have to leave again. I want time to stand still for just a bit!

    1. That is such long way away - now 5hrs drive doesn't seem such a distance.

  8. Cute post and cute pics! :) I have a pretty good relationship with my parents and considering I now live 22 hours away from them, absence really does make the heart grow fonder. I miss them terribly sometimes and whenever I get a chance to go home I take it. I hope the wedding planning is going wonderfully! :)

    1. 22 hours is crazy - do they live overseas? Wedding Planning is going well thanks - I would share on the blog but I am trying to decide what to save until the big day and what to share along the way...

  9. I live with my mum still, but that'll be changing soon. I love her so much! We (my sister, mum & I) weekly try to go out for coffee or something. I don't want to take them for granted while I'm here because I know I wont see them as much once I move out, even though I'll be 15 minutes away. haha.

    1. At least you can still go over when you don't feel like cooking dinner - 15 minutes away is a good compromise :)

  10. Absence has definitely helped my parents and I build a stronger relationship. At least it's that way with my dad, my mom not so much.
